The Theatre de la Calade, a 17th century salt store situated along the Rhone and which has recently been restored, will offer four different cultural events to the public from 8th-11th July.

Coinciding with the Rencontres d’Arles, a summer photography festival, the director of the Theatre, Henry Moati, hopes that this exceptional 4-day programme will reach a wider audience and thus extending his cultural network.

The Programme:
8th July, Tuesday, 18:30
Vernissage of the photo exhibition of Lucien Clergue. Lucien Clergue was born in Arles and is one of the founders of the Rencontres d’Art. He will present his photos taken for the Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar, directed by Jean Renoir, and performed during the bimillennial celebration of Arles.

9th July, Wednesday, 19:01
Schubert’s impromptus, fantasias and serenades will be performed in duo by Anne-Marie Girard and Marlène David.

French poetry reading (Baudelaire, Verlaine, Apollinaire and Rimbaud) by Henry Moati.

10th July, Thursday, 19:01
Reading of the play L’un de nous deux (One of Us Two) by its author Jean-Noël Jeanneney, and Henry Moati.

11th July, Friday, 19:01
Jazz music night with saxophonist Olivier Chaussade, pianist Ludovic Pradarelli and double bass player Adrien Coulomb.

(Drinks will be served at the quay right in front of the Theatre.)
