Every spring, the Villa Noailles, a cubist architecture of the 1920’s, situated on a hilltop in this scenic coastal town Hyères in southern France, hosts the International Festival of Fashion and Photography.
The Hyères Festival was founded in 1985 by Jean-Pierre Blanc, the director of the Villa Noailles, with the aim to encourage and support young and talented artists to develop their career.
Hub of New Talent
Like every year, the 29th Hyères Festival attracted fashion and photography talent from all over the world and created a special occasion for them to exchange ideas and to extend their network. Ten designers and ten photographers were selected to display their masterpieces and compete for several awards. The jury this year was presided by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, the Creative Directors of Kenzo. The 26 year-old designer from Japan, Kenta Matsushige, whose inspiration came from the architecture of Tadao Ando and traditional Japanese kimonos, has been awarded the Première Vision Grand Jury Prize.
